Brian McAuliff
On his 11th birthday
Brian was given a crystal radio kit. And so, at a young age, he
became an electronics hobbyist, building and repairing electronics
in his parent's basement for relatives and friends. Involved with
the technology of the day, he also worked with CB and ham radio
buddies building specialty equipment.
|
|
After
receiving an associate degree in electronic technology from
Suffolk Community College, Brian transferred to New York Tech only
to drop out after one semester and work for an engineering firm
doing a communications system for 3M. At age 21, six months after
being hired, he was shipped to Hong Kong to implement and oversee
production. Three years later, the firm closed. Brian opened his
own company and negotiated with 3M to be the exclusive service
center for the 44,000 systems that had been installed.
Brian's focus switched from
component design to system design after being approached to design
an energy management system for a large machine shop. Accumulating
more than 20 years experience in electronics, fifteen of which are
in system design, Brian has worked for many of Long Island's
leading corporations and high-end homeowners.
Today, Brian is owner and
senior designer for Bri-Tech,
Inc., a recognized leader in emerging technology and
implementation methods. His knowledge and experience cover many
different types of electronic systems, including data, video,
audio, security, PLC Controls, power and lighting. Brian is a
Connected Hearth co-founder, and Bri-Tech is responsible for
installing Connected Hearth’s home automation solutions
throughout Long Island and in the New York metropolitan region.
Bri-Tech, Inc., is based in
Long Island, New York and employs a staff of 30 working as leading
designers and installers of high-end residential and corporate

Lynne Mapes
Lynne has lived on
the East End all her life, and in East Hampton for over thirty
years. Between raising two kids and assisting her husband Mark in
running his electrical contracting business, she bought her first
Macintosh computer. It was love at first sight. Working with
TECSoft enabled her to combine the two things she likes best:
learning more about computers, and helping other people learn to
help their computers work for them.
|
|
Working for Connected Hearth opens up a whole new
world of showing people what their computers can do for them, and
how they can make their lives easier and their homes safer.
Lynne manages Connected
Hearth's office and information infrastructure, and customer and
trade relations. Lynne is an experienced operations, IT, and
people manager, has an extensive background with the electrical,
builder, and architecture trades, and excels at customer
relations.
Lynne resides in Springs, New
York, with her new Mac G4, and her two neurotic cats, Peter and
Black.
